.com or .org?

It is not too well-known in non-technical circles that Wordpress comes in two basic flavors commonly distinguished by their web addresses: wordpress.com and wordpress.org.

Wordpress.com is a community of blogs that are hosted by Automattic, the company that maintains the Wordpress Platform. Anyone can create a free blog at wordpress.com and start blogging away. Users of this flavor of WP usually have a blog address like john-doe.wordpress.com.

This flavor of WP is more suited to personal blogging efforts, but not well-suited as corporate blogging strategy.

The other flavor of WP is the .org version. Automattic makes the entire Wordpress Platform available as an installable download that an experienced web service provider uses to effectively install and maintain a custom blog installation on a client domain for the exclusive use of that client.

When Revisin installs the Wordpress platform for a client, the content is stored in a database and the blog "resides" within the domain structure of the client and can take the form of abccompany.com/blog.
